I was lucky enough to spend a few days in Bad-Neuenahr, Germany, and take a three days seminar  with Gregor Lersch. Yes, I deliberately did spell it with capital M because Gregor Lersch not just a master florist and teacher, he is THE MASTER. Too me anyway. His style and knowledge is amazing, adorable and fantasticly unique. He is very-very close to the nature but at the same time so high-tech. His school is in his garden, together with workrooms and dining room. He greets us in the garden with fresh coffee and doughnuts outside, but despite the cold it is a beautiful morning, and the coffee and some nice words warm us up. After coffee we go into the “class room, which is decorated with flowers- as he explains it -it is purely to our respect and our eyes. After few hours of educational and demonstration program we have a coffee brake and go on again. Then in lunch time we have a fantastic selection of hot food, served as if it was a restaurant. After lunch we began to work and experiment on our designs in the workroom. Gregor is going around, helping and giving advise to everyone. After the workshop hours we are back to the classroom, and every single piece is evaluated by Gregor, so all the students will know what is good what needs to be improved in one’s design… The most fantastic experience in floristry!  His educational books are essential to everyone who takes floristry seriously.  Check out photos from the seminar below…

Nemrégiben volt szerencsém egy néhány napot eltölteni Bad-neuenahr-ban és résztvenni egy három napos Gregor Lersch szemináriumon. Igen, szándékosan írtam nagy M-el, mert Gregor Lersch nem csak egy virágkötő mester és tanár, Ő A MESTER. Nekem legalábbis. A stílusa nagyon egyedi, eredeti, és fantasztikus, szors közelségben áll a természettel, mégis valahogyan high-tech. Az iskola a sjaát kerjében van, egy több épületből álló komplexum, műhely, osztűly terem, és ebédlő. Reggel forró kávéval és friss fánkokkal fogad minket Gregor a kertben, majd rövid beszélgetés után bemegyünk a terembe, ami csodálatosan fel van friss virágokkal díszíte, -ahogy Ő mondja csupán a mi tiszteletünkre-. Néhány óra bemutatózás és elmélet után kévészünet ismét a kertben. Ebédig még van  kb 2 órányi oktatás és bemutató, majd az étkezőben többfogásos meleg ebéddel szolgálnak ki minket, mintha étteremben lennénk. Ebéd után mindenki elfoglalja az asztalát a műhelyben, ahol gyakorolhatjuk és kipróbálhatjuk az aznap tanult technikákat. Gregor körbejárkál, segít és tanácsot ad mindenkinek. Műhely után gregor minden egyes elkészült munkát alaposan kiértékel, kielemez, így mindenki megtudhatja mi az amit jól csinált, mi az amin javítani kell…A legfantasztikusabb virágkötézseti élmény!
